I have four little Mexican jumping beans. Ravenous ones at that! They think fingers, ears and clothes make much better chew toys than anything else. They are getting three meals a day now. I started feeding them ground hamburger the beginning of the week. Their teeth were coming through and they were starting to chew on everything. I walk into their house at mealtime and call and there is a mad scramble to the door. They love their meat!
They love people. Anyone who sits down to visit with them gets mobbed. It’s amusing how much they like sitting on laps. They are so big now that they don’t all fit in any one lap anymore. They end up playing of King of the Mountain. They have been on a couple outings. They have been in the house a few times, in the yard and in their orchard playground.
I have started house training them. They have the run of their big box, which I cover with newspapers, then in one corner they have a snug bed of blankets. Dogs are naturally clean animals and won’t mess in their sleeping area if they can help it. The puppies are mobile enough now that they have no trouble getting from their bed out onto the papers to do their business.
I have also set out different kinds of toys for them to interact with and a little crate. A few minutes after I put the crate in for the first time the oldest male, I will call him Pablo, walked right in. Since then I have seen them in it a couple times. Dogs like little close spaces. It’s a den for them, it makes them feel safe.
I hope to get pictures up later today.
They are pretty consistently gaining a pound a week.
The oldest black/tan male, Pablo, is now 4lbs 12 oz.
The black male, Chance, is 5lbs 4oz.
The second black/tan male, Banjo, is 5lbs 6oz
And the black female, Pepper, is 5lbs 12oz.
